Ten Days and Telstra Country Wide Win Award

Ten Days on the Island and major partner, Telstra Country Wide are celebrating winning the Australian Business Arts Foundation (AbaF) Marsh Partnering Award which gave recognition to the strength and depth of their business partnership. Presented to Sir Guy Green, Ten Days Chairman and Noel Hunt, General Manager, Telstra Country Wide (Southern Region) at a glittering luncheon on Thursday 3rd September at Wrest Point, Hobart, the Marsh Partnering Award was a closely contested category for partnerships between businesses employing 200 or more people globally and arts and cultural organisations.

The partnership between the two organizations stretches back to the second Ten Days event in 2003 and in 2009, this dynamic pairing saw a mutually beneficial relationship come to maturity. Both organisations consider the affiliation of their brand values a key driver in the partnership, enhanced by the practical solutions in communication and technology that Telstra provided and the opportunities Ten Days proffers for Telstra to showcase their new technologies and their benefits to consumers, business, government and not-for-profit organisations. Complemented by the state-wide advocacy role Ten Days plays and its engagement with stakeholders and customers at all levels, this sponsorship steps far beyond the conventional framework and helps Ten Days reach Tasmanians in all corners of the state. Working with Telstra, a national communications company results in direct benefits to Ten Days and its audience, including access to technology normally outwith the festival's limited budget, allowing greater market penetration and more effective internal and external communication

Noel Hunt, General Manager Southern Region said "Working with a recognised, respected organisation like Ten Days, allows Telstra to demonstrate their commitment to Tasmania in practical terms. The relationship highlights Ten Days position as a leader in new technology in the Tasmanian arts sector and Telstra's commitment to corporate social responsibility, by supporting aspriational benchmarks for other Tasmanian corporate and arts companies. Ten Days' advocacy reinforces our commitment to community support and the availability of technology across the state."

Sir Guy Green, Chairman, Ten Days on the Island said "This partnership epitomizes the sort that Ten Days wants to nurture. Each partner is very much focused on recognising and responding to the many strong communities across Tasmania. It is a partnership which worked very productively and at many levels from which both greatly benefited."

Ten Days and Telstra will now go forward to represent Tasmania at the national AbaF Awards in Brisbane on Thursday 15th October.
